Clarkdale Village
A Journey Back in Time
Nestled in the heart of Cobb County, Georgia, Clarkdale Village stands as a testament to the region's rich industrial heritage. This historic mill town, with its 96 charming bungalow-style homes and meticulously planned layout, offers a unique glimpse into the past, where industry and community life were intricately intertwined.
The Visionary Beginnings
Construction of the Clark Thread Company commenced in 1931. The village was built on a 50-acre plot, with construction reflecting the era's architectural and urban planning ideals. In its heyday, the Clark Thread Mill was a bustling center of activity, employing around 1,000 workers. The mill operated continuously from its inception until the early 1980s, playing a vital role in the local economy. The surrounding village, known as Clarkdale, was meticulously planned to provide a high quality of life for its inhabitants.
Mass Water Damage and Renewal
In 2009 a massive storm flooded the Clarkdale Elementary and left building in shambles, with mud saturating the ceilings and debris scattered throughout the halls. A teacher recalled the day of the flood when teachers worked tirelessly to evacuate students as water filled the school from floor to ceiling. Since then, students have attended classes at two other elementary schools. The school was rebuilt in 2012.
In 2023, Clarkdale Village saw a renewed commitment to preserving its historical and community significance with the restoration and reopening of Old Clarkdale Park. This 6-acre passive park now features a pavilion, restrooms, a community garden with a shed, a playground, adult exercise equipment, and an ADA-accessible walking path and playground equipment. The park serves as a vibrant gathering place for residents and visitors alike, embodying the village's enduring spirit of community.

Thank you to Hugo and Douglas, they came out at 11:15 PM to deal with our flooded basement. That worked throughout the night removing water, moving furniture, ripping up carpet and padding. Our basement has fans and dehumidifiers everywhere to mitigate the damage.
We had a flooded finished basement. Ken, our Construction Manager, was excellent. Every issue was handled to our satisfaction. The office was very helpful in dealing with the insurance company too. Highly recommended.
