Naples Park is considered part of what is considered North Naples. It is within the boundaries of US Route 41, 111th Avenue North, Vanderbilt Drive, and 91st Avenue North. Downtown Naples lies about 8 miles to the south, and Vanderbilt Lagoon is to the west and connects to the Gulf of Mexico.

The Mercato is an outdoor shopping mall that lies to the east of US Route 41. It is the only part of Naples Park that is east of Route 41.

In North Naples, the average temperature throughout the year is around 75 degrees. This makes it a great place to vacation during any season of the year.

History of Naples

In 1886, the Confederate general and Kentucky US Senator John Stuart Williams along with his partner Walter N. Haldeman—a Louisville businessman founded Naples.

When stories appeared talking about the mild weather and abundance of fish in a certain town, promoters touted this place as "surpassing" Naples, Italy.

In 1927, the Seaboard Air Line Railroad was extended. The same year, the Tamiami Trail linked Naples to Miami. The original Naples Municipal Airport was built during World War II as a US Army Air Force training field; it has been in operation since 1947 for general aviation purposes.
