Julington Creek is an area located in Jacksonville, south of Mandarin and south of Julington Creek and Julington Durbin Creek Nature Preserve. Julington Creek is technically located east of SR 13 in the census-designated place (CDP) of Fruit Cove.

During the late 1700s, British planters developed large-scale plantations along the St. Johns River. A 10,000-acre tract at Mandarin Point was acquired by London merchant Francis Levett, Sr. in 1767. It formed the northern border of what is now known as Julington Creek, Levett developed a plantation named after his wife Julia, to cultivate rice, corn, potatoes, indigo, peas, oranges, peaches, and wine. Levett’s enslaved labor also slashed and boxed 150,000 pine trees for turpentine production. However, with the Treaty of Paris returning Florida to Spain in 1783, Julianton was abandoned by Francis Levett, Jr, who moved his enslaved to the Bahamas, before establishing a second Julianton Plantation in Coastal Georgia. The community is home to Julington Creek Plantation, named for Julia, the wife of Francis Levett, Sr., and Plantation for the labor enslaved on the land.

The Community Development District (CDD) and Property Owners Association that encompasses the area today is still called Julington Creek Plantation. It is now home to Amenities Centers, bike trails, an aquatic complex with competitive swim teams, recreation areas, a sports plex, a park, and single-family home neighborhoods.
