Citra is known as the home of the Pineapple Orange, (originally called the Hickory orange) a name coined in 1883 for an orange fruit with an aroma much like that of the Pineapple. Citra was founded in 1881 in a citrus-growing district. A post office has been in operation at Citra since 1881. Citra has two buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. The Citra Methodist Episcopal Church and the Armstrong House. It is home to The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) which is a teaching, research and extension scientific organization focused on agricultural and natural resources. Her best known work, The Yearling, about a boy who adopts an orphaned fawn, won a Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1939 and was later made into a movie of the same name. The book was written before the concept of young adult fiction, but is now commonly included in teen-reading lists.

We had some water damage in the house under the floors and the insurance company sent SERVPRO to clean up the water and dry it out, etc. Jason was so professional. Lifted the old flooring, and set fans to dry the area. Moved the furniture etc...and upon finishing asked us if there was anything else he could do for us! He is a great asset to SERVPRO!
They did it! Greg was so easy to work with even though our homeowners insurance didn't cover it. Most companies would not. SERVPRO followed the remediation protocol exactly and we passed the first time! Thanks also to Lynette, Brad and Tim!!
