About Baldwin, FL
Baldwin is in Duval county, Florida. Baldwin is in an interesting spot in terms of municipality. In 1968, several towns in Duval County were consolidated into the city of Jacksonville. Baldwin was one of the few that maintained its own municipal government, but residents still vote in the Jacksonville Mayoral and City Council elections.
As of 2010, the population was slightly less than 1,500 people. It consists of a total of two square miles, all of it land. Baldwin is easily accessible via Interstate 10, US Route 90, US 301, and US 301 Bypass.
The weather in Baldwin is mild year-round. The summers in Baldwin tend to be hotter and more humid than in many places in the United States, but the winters are short, cool, and great for people who don't love the cold. The temperatures vary throughout the year from a low of 44 degrees Fahrenheit to a high of 91 degrees Fahrenheit. It rarely drops below freezing or gets above 96 degrees Fahrenheit.
History of Baldwin, FL
Baldwin was first known as Thigpen, named after Mr. Thigpen a local tavern owner. the tavern benefited the passengers on the stagecoach line that ran through the area. In 1857, and again in 1859, the railroad was built through Thigpen. At that point in time, the area was renamed to Baldwin after Dr. Abel Seymour Baldwin, the president of the Florida, Atlantic, and Gulf Central Railroad.

I got to work and found it full of water. A pipe broke in the wall. The plumber came and fixed it and told us to use SERVPRO to cleanup the mess. They did a fantastic job getting back in my shop fast.
