Rio Linda Cleanup and Restoration

Rio Linda established its name in 1913 and was known for the railway Dry Creek Station flag stop. In the 1920’s poultry farming became viable source of income for the residents and by 1942 the area became well known for their excellent poultry production. Wild chickens are still seen today roaming the Rio Linda neighborhoods. Rio Linda has a rich history, even one of the well-known intersections has original arches that have been a historic landmark since 1926.

Rio Linda has a country living atmosphere with a tight-knit community. It isn’t unusual to see domestic livestock in people’s yards and the occasional person from the community riding their horse around town. The area has charming amenities such as the Rio Linda Public library, the Rio Linda True Value Hardware store, the Rio Pub, a yearly local pumpkin patch, and the historic Dry Creek Ranch House (which host many local events). The area is the perfect place to live if your want to live in a more rural area with a more urban area nearby.

The geographic region is great for bike and walking trails because of Dry Creek that runs through multiple areas in this region. Beautiful for a scenic walk but it also makes the Rio Linda area a common location for flooding. Flooding can be great for the local greenery and irrigating crops. In fact, certain parts of Rio Linda have such a well know history of flooding that there was a state issued home elevation project that was completed in 2000, to help elevate some of the homes most at risk.
