The city of Trinity is located in the northern part of the state of Alabama in Morgan County. It is included in the Decatur Metropolitan Area, as well as the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city of Trinity is around 2,526 people; up from 2,095 people in 2010. First incorporated on May 9th of 1880, Trinity lost its charter and had to re-incorporate on March 5th, 1901. At this time, the town only had a one mile radius. During the 1930's Trinity Lost its charter and again was unincorporated. It was not officially re-incorporated until June of 1948, where it has stayed incorporated to this day.

Today, Trinity has two municipal parks that include playgrounds and baseball fields. Cedar Ridge Golf Course sits just southeast of the city. The Forest Home, also known as the Absalom L. Davis House, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places until it burned in 1991. The William E. Murphy House was also on the National Register until it was destroyed in the tornado storms of 2011.
